Q: I have taken a couple of Reiki classes. I can’t help but feel like I don’t deserve this awesome energy. Have any of you struggled with this?<\/strong><\/p>\n I know many who struggle with this. The dilemma happens because we have a tendency to take more than we give. Then we feel guilty about all we take, and want to take less from the universe, because life\/ parents\/ society didn’t teach us to give freely. We don’t reach a balance by taking less – we create a balance by giving more: that is also why charity is encouraged by saying, you get more than you give. Look at a tree – it takes air, water, soil, sun, manure, possibly a lot of care and pruning, but it gives back so much too, without really asking for anything, and without any purpose, without asking whether the one receiving deserves it.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n So, allow yourself to feel that you don’t deserve – don’t fight that feeling. But ‘do’ something about that feeling – give, share. Think of yourself not as a receiver, but as a servant if you will, or an instrument of Reiki – then you don’t see it as you getting something from the universe, but the universe trying to use you as a means to make a difference.
